about

We are glad to share with you Liminal Spaces, our next compilation release (digital only). This V.A. is a collective effort from 8 artists, all invited to explore the concept of grey-area in a way that it would relate to their personal and/or creative realm. A grey-area is very linked to what is known as a liminal space : a transitional location, or a state being, in between two others, often empty, abandoned, that feels cold, nostalgic and slightly unsettling, but also familiar to our minds.

Liminal Space goes into a wide sonic spectrum range. Disturbing spoken words, emotional pop anthems, deconstructed club and disquieting ambient are merged all together here for an unsteady listening experience.

The creative process began just before the war in Ukraine - when we learnt that we were working on a concept so close to such an event, we decided that all proceeds will go to Helping To Leave, a NGO helping people evacuate from areas affected by the Ukrainian war.

Bamboo Shows words :

Are you - like us - feeling unsettled when reaching one of these lonely, desolated places with no other purpose than connecting two others?
Not a single soul init, or only for a short time, just when someone passes-by, as quickly as possible. Out of time - or from another -, yet here forever: The empty mall halls, the school corridors during class hours, or even the underground connections at night.
No close noise neither. Maybe just a distant humming, to remind you that life goes on, somewhere else.
These places, yes! Troubling, for sure, but so fascinating also. Because once you got into one, are you even sure you'll entirely get out? What if, just like after a deadly battle, a striking loss or a huge achievement, some part of you - even a tiny one -, just stayed stuck back there? Would you ever really reach your destination?
